Description

The ESPELETTE hanging chair or swing is the result of the collaboration of a dynamic team consisting of a designer, an editor and a editor and a creative craftsman. The designer Marine Peyre responds to the invitation of PIKO Edition and proposes a new type of seating in the form of an indoor/outdoor swing designed on the principle of a surfboard the principle of a surfboard made from ecological and environmentally friendly materials. For its development and manufacture, Marine Peyre and
PIKO Edition have called on the expertise of Philippe Lopez, known in the surfing world for the creation of the the biomimetic S-WINGS daggerboard.
The object, playful, light and ergonomic, is inspired by the aesthetics of surfboards while transposing it to that of interior design and invites to new forms of conviviality. ESPELETTE, whose name is a nod to the picturesque village and the famous Basque chilli pepper, draws its strength from its materiality thanks to and application of unique materials such as linen fibre, indigo vegetable pigment and bio-sourced resins. The Kevlar ropes underline its aesthetics and affirm its technicality.
ESPELETTE is 100% eco-designed. Laminated with linen fabric and epoxy resin of 56% vegetable origin.
Indigo blue vegetable pigment (Indigofera Tinctoria or Dyers’ Indigo). Brass fittings. 6 mm Kevlar rope/halyard, black.
Halyard length supplied, approx. 3 metres on each side.
Can be used up to 130 kg.
