The Muros chair is an object born from a rehabilitation project carried out by domohomo architects, in the villa that gives its name to this furniture and where most of the elements are made with chestnut wood, structure, decking, carpentry, cladding, etc.. From this close proximity to this material, so significant in Galicia, emerges the desire to continue working with it and explore all its limits. Thus, the Muros chair becomes a place of experimentation, where the hands of a local carpenter make the imagined possible. It is a handcrafted work where nine pieces of wood are assembled to configure the Muros chair. Undoubtedly, the piece that has presented the greatest difficulty in its manufacture has been the armrest. At first, a conventional section of solid chestnut wood was used and laminated, making sheets of wood about 2 mm thick. Then, we proceed to make a mold with the desired curvature and, finally, glue all these sheets around the established profile. Thus, the Muros chair becomes an armchair, designed to contemplate the wonderful views of the Atlantic sea.
