Crea-re
The essence of Crea-re
Every Crea-re paper-mâché lamp is different. It’s impossible to make two equal; each one has its own stories: those of the past lives of its recycled materials and those stories of the artists’ inspirations to create them.
Its story
Crea-re was born from the passion of its eco-designer María Fiter for sculpture, evident in the organic shapes of each lamp. Each new design project begins as a vision for a series of rustic but elegant lamps with a nod to nature. The name of the firm derives from the creativity “Crea ” and the recycling “Re”.
Its production processes
All Crea-re lamps are exclusive and sustainable, handcrafted with paper-mâché and wood. For this, they use 100% recycled newspapers and water-based varnishes and beeswax for the wood.
Inspirations
In the series of lamps called Copernicus, the inspiration for all the designs comes from the Solar System planets such as the Moon, Jupiter, Pluto, and the Earth.
Art is also a source of inspiration for Crea-Re. The structure of the lamps – gray, porous, irregular, dry and cracked has been inspired by the paintings of a group of Polish artists called Rump “Nowohucka Division”.
Ecodesigner
Maria Fiter manages Crea-re, she is a graduate in Art History in Krakow (Poland), and she founded her studio in 2013 in Barcelona. Maria’s work oscillates between art and design.
